Exclusive: Egyptian Star Yasmina El Abd Officially Joins the Dior Family

Of late, Dior has been upping the anté with a host of new faces, be it Argentina's Anya Taylor-Joy, South Korea's Jisoo or Willow Smith from the United States. But for its latest addition, the French fashion house is turning its gaze to the Middle East and has announced its newest family member today: Yasmina El Abd.

Sharing the news exclusively with Vogue Arabia, the 20-year-old said, “It’s an honour to be joining Dior, a house that celebrates creativity, individuality, and a modern femininity I’ve always connected with, strong, expressive, and never afraid to evolve.”

Born to Egyptian parents and raised in Switzerland, El Abd has already earned quite the following for her memorable work in Netflix series Finding Ola, Midterm on MBCShahid and international fantasy series Theodosia, but you'd be wrong to think that's where her talents end. Off-screen, El Abd has been building a space for herself in the fashion world, using each public appearance to mark herself as one worth taking sartorial notes from. From gilded blazers to artfully draped red carpet gowns, nothing's off the table for the doe-eyed star, who also happens to already share a special bond with Dior.

This January, El Abd made her fashion week debut sitting front row at the maison's couture showcase dressed in a houndstooth cape, and soon after was also spotting celebrating Ramadan at an intimate Dior suhoor in Dubai.
