All eyes are on Lisa right now. The global pop star made her viral acting debut on the third season of The White Lotus, performed a fashion-fuelled solo set of epic proportions at this year’s Coachella, and now, a praiseworthy entrance at the Met Gala 2025 in none other than Louis Vuitton.

For her 106 million Instagram followers and Blinks (Blackpink’s devote legion of fans), guesses on whether Lisa would attend the Met Gala and what she’d wear has been the subject of buzzy debate in recent weeks. The K-pop star’s ambassadorship with Louis Vuitton offered clues, but nothing could have prepared us for the mastery of her ensemble for fashion’s biggest night.

Lisa, a.k.a. Lalisa Manobal, is no stranger to high-impact tailoring (remember that full-length tuxedo at the Oscars?). She follows a similar script for her inaugural Met Gala, dressed to the nines in the fashion house’s unmistakable logo splashed across an impeccably tailored jacket, bodysuit, and hosiery (punctuated by a pearl-bedecked chain belt, no less). Bling is also in full supply, with details like encrusted buttons and glimmering embellishments catching glints of light.

But you’ll need to peer even closer to get the full story of this show-stopping look. Henry Taylor, the celebrated artist behind the Vogue cover painting of Pharrell Williams (and whom Williams considers “a genius”) had a creative hand in Lisa’s look tonight. Embroidered into the bodice of Lisa's ensemble are portraits by Taylor. And this isn’t his first encounter with Louis Vuitton. For Williams’s debut Louis Vuitton show, miniature versions of Henry Taylor Portraits were stitched onto suits and accessories. It feels fitting, then, this narrative motif celebrating these arbiters of style finds its way onto the most important red carpet in fashion.

The Met Gala’s dress code, Tailored for You, and Lisa’s daring style sensibilities dovetail, we would argue, rather effortlessly. “Fashion and I are inseparable,” she said in 2021 interview. “It’s important to me because fashion—along with music—is my way of expressing myself.” With swagger as her calling card and an unrelenting confidence that is utterly contagious, this Louis Vuitton look catapults Lisa even further into the pop star stratosphere.
