Inside Mónica Anoz and Ignacio Álvarez Sanjuan's Menorca Wedding
Here are all the details of the wedding of Mónica Anoz and Ignacio Álvarez Sanjuan in Menorca, including the bride's vintage Chanel wedding dress

Menorca was the setting chosen by Mónica Anoz and Ignacio Álvarez Sanjuan to celebrate their love. The Balearic island where Ignacio spent every summer and that made Monica fall in love since her first visit—became, years later, the place chosen to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter together. Although Monica always considered Ibiza as her summer refuge, it was when she met Ignacio that she discovered the serene magnetism of Menorca, an island with a different energy and infinite calm where they decided to seal their love story with an “I do.” Eight years later, surrounded by nature, colour, positive energy and with a vintage Chanel wedding dress as the centerpiece of the bride's look, they celebrated a wedding that was as personal as it was magical.
The wedding took place last May 31, 2025 and the venue chosen for the celebration was the Amagatay Hotel. “When I met Ignacio almost eight years ago, I discovered Menorca and it seemed magical to me. What I never imagined was that, years later, my brother-in-law would open Annua Signature Hotels' Hotel Amagatay here, and that my mother, Virginia Nieto, would be in charge of all the design and landscaping. The project was so meaningful to her that she lived a whole year on the island during the construction, and we accompanied her many times. Therefore, celebrating our wedding in Amagatay was much more than choosing a beautiful place: it was a reunion with a place full of shared memories, with the family and with the history we have built together,” shares Monica.
Under the creative direction of Gab Foods and with the help of wedding planner Pepe Pisa, Monica Anoz gave shape to the wedding of her dreams. "From the beginning, I wanted our wedding to be a joyful celebration, full of colour and positive energy. I have always felt a special connection to art, and one of my favourite painting books, Andy Warhol's Seven Illustrated Books (1952-1959), became the starting point for the whole visual concept. I knew it had to be present in some way," explains the stylist, content creator and founder of the Trenza brand.
Monica relied on her good friend Amalia Aranguren, from Antennae Studio, and Gabriela Palatchi, from Gab Foods, to give shape to the vision she had in mind. Together they developed a graphic proposal based on the colors and drawings of the book, managing to create a fun and vibrant atmosphere that reflected just what the couple wanted to convey: joy and good vibes for all the guests. In addition, another close friend of the bride, Almu Cañedo, artist and founder of When at Home, was in charge of all the waiters and name tags. "She has a unique hand and incredible taste, and made every detail a small work of art," adds Monica.
When they had the creative idea pretty much defined, Loewe Perfumes joined the project with a proposal that captivated Monica: a real explosion of color through its candles, not only visually spectacular, but with aromas that integrated perfectly into the natural environment of the Menorcan countryside. "It was a detail that elevated the sensory experience in a very special way," she says.
To emphasize that explosion of color in the decoration of her tables, Monica chose tablecloths by Lisa Corti, whose prints looked like flowers sprouting directly from the landscape. "It was as if nature was spreading over the tables, merging with everything around us. The harmony between the colors and the environment was magical. The protagonist tones were blue, green, yellow and pink: lively, cheerful, and exactly what we wanted to convey," she confirms. The orange touch of the wedding came from the Veuve Clicquot family. "Their optimistic philosophy, based on the sun, fit perfectly with the spirit of this celebration: bright, cheerful and full of life. It was a very special wink that added to the ambiance with its color and history," explains the bride.
The flowers for the entire celebration were provided by El Palomar Studio. "We connected from the first moment with Carlota Trias, Marta Hortelano and Paula Artiach. They understood perfectly the aesthetics we were looking for and gave a beautiful life to every corner. In addition, they had an idea that we loved: during the appetizer they organized a small flower workshop, where each guest could choose and take a flower of a specific color, each with a special symbolism. It was a detail full of intention that added even more meaning to the moment," says Monica.
Graphic design was handled by Amalia Aranguren, from Antennae Studio, who was behind every visual detail of the wedding, from the invitations to the menus and personalized stationery. She was able to perfectly capture the spirit we wanted to transmit, with an impeccable aesthetic sensibility. The printing was done by Imprenta Central de Gráficas Asociadas, who did an exceptional job and took great care with every piece," says Mónica. "In addition, one of the most special elements was the witness album, hand-painted by Markar by AReynolds, a beautiful piece of craftsmanship," she adds.
The guests enjoyed every detail of Mónica Anoz and Ignacio Álvarez Sanjuan's wedding, as well as the after-party, which was hosted by DJ Berni Martín. "He knows how to fuse different styles very well," says the couple. Another musical highlight was when Monica's aunt, Nono, from Delicalisten, played. The most special moments, both in video and image, were captured by Plata.forma.
If there was one thing Monica Anoz was clear about, it was that on her wedding day she wanted to wear Chanel. "I always dreamed of getting married in Chanel. I am fascinated by their designs, the runway shows, the timeless aesthetics of the maison.... Being a Chanel bride was an illusion that I had been carrying inside for years," says the founder of Trenza. Moreover, Chanel is a very important brand for Monica, as it was one of the first brands that trusted her when she started her career in the fashion world. "I was looking for it non-stop, until one day I saw it on the internet, in an auction store, and it was a real crush. However, I couldn't get in touch with them," she says.
"And then the magic of social media (or the famous algorithm) happened: a vintage store in Los Angeles, Timeless Vixen, appeared on my profile and there was my Chanel dress. I quickly wrote to Lauren Lepire, a collector specializing in unique archival pieces. She was charming, very resolute and walked me through the whole process: she helped me with measurements, told me the history of the piece and took care of every detail. She sent it to me with all the love in the world and my godfather received it in Miami," she reveals. The dress turned out to be a Chanel Haute Couture organza dress from 1975, specifically look 49 from that year's Haute Couture fashion show.
Once the wedding dress arrived in Spain, Chanel took care of cleaning and preparing it with great care for Monica's big day. "It was very exciting to see how a piece with so much history was transformed into my wedding dress," she says.
The bride fulfilled the tradition of wearing "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue." The something old was her Chanel dress; her something new the custom-made veil by Alejandra Valero, with embroidered details from the dress, and the LOVE bracelet by Cartier; the something borrowed the tiara from her grandmother and the Baignoire watch by Cartier that personalised it with a white strap and the sapphire from Gold & Roses earrings, the jewellery firm of her aunt Hanna Rodriguez and Sonia Ruiz, and the bow from the Chanel dress were her something blue. "Each element had a very strong symbolic value for me, and wearing them that day was a way to feel surrounded by history, love and deep meanings," she confirms." she says.
Monica wanted to enjoy her wedding to the fullest and so she chose very comfortable footwear for her 'B' day. "I opted for Vibi Venezia, a brand that I love and with which I feel totally identified. In addition, the page boys also wore Vibi Venezia, which made everything have a beautiful and very natural aesthetic coherence," she says.
For the party, Monica opted for a dress with a more festive and casual air. “I fell in love with a Chemena creation for Chloé, a design with a more bohemian point that connected with a very authentic part of me. I had a bit of a hard time because it arrived just a few days before the wedding, when I was already starting to look for a plan B... but in the end, everything came together. It was perfect,” she shares. This second option was accompanied by a pair of Chloé platforms that gave a fun touch to the look.
Mónica Anoz's hair and make-up were done by Ángela Blanco. "Ángela has been a constant in my professional and personal life; we have been working together for years and she has been present at all the key moments. Of course, my wedding day could be no exception. She knows my tastes perfectly and understands exactly how I feel most myself," says the bride. For makeup, they turned to the bride's Guerlain must-haves, as it is a firm she has been working with for many years and whose products have become part of her beauty routine. "I don't usually experiment too much: I prefer to play it safe, and with Guerlain I always get it right. Angela worked with my favorite shades, especially in shadows and foundation, achieving a natural, luminous look that is true to my style," says the bride.
