As global attention turns to Miami this week, Faena is quietly revealing its next act: an expansion into the Middle East that prioritises narrative over scale, and cultural immersion over spectacle.
Long celebrated for blurring the boundaries between hospitality, art and community, the lifestyle brand is bringing its distinct philosophy to the region through a series of site-specific destinations. Each project is conceived not simply as a development, but as a living cultural world — shaped by its environment, heritage and future.
At the centre of this new chapter is Faena Island Red Sea, the brand’s first island concept. Set against the pristine backdrop of the Red Sea, the sanctuary is envisioned as a retreat where nature and culture exist in quiet equilibrium. Here, luxury is expressed through landscape and stillness rather than spectacle. Wellness, artistic exploration and a slower rhythm of life form the foundation of an experience designed to feel restorative and transformative.
In contrast, Faena’s presence in Diriyah unfolds within the historic landscape of Wadi Safar. The development will comprise 20 private golf course villas, a hotel and spa, and immersive cultural venues including the region’s first Faena Theatre and Faena Forum. Conceived as a space for gathering and exchange, Wadi Safar positions architecture and performance in dialogue with community, creating a layered cultural destination rooted in Saudi Arabia’s evolving creative landscape.
Additional projects across the UAE are currently in development, further extending Faena’s exploration of how contemporary culture and hospitality can take shape across diverse geographies.
“We are deeply honoured to bring the Faena philosophy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Diriyah, as well as to introduce The Faena Island Red Sea, each rooted in a profound sense of place and visionary ambition,” said Alan Faena, Founder and Chairman of Faena. “Across both destinations, we are crafting more than homes and resorts — we are creating environments where art, nature and hospitality come together to inspire daily life.”
For Faena, this expansion is not positioned as a milestone, but as a moment — a deliberate move into regions where creativity, identity and place converge. The Middle East becomes the brand’s next canvas, one where hospitality is elevated into a form of cultural expression.
The expansion is part of a strategic partnership with Ennismore, underscoring Faena’s commitment to shaping purpose-driven, culturally anchored environments. Founded in 2000 by Alan Faena and Len Blavatnik, the brand has built a global reputation for creating immersive districts that shift the gravitational centres of cities, transforming them into cultural epicentres.
With the Red Sea and Diriyah developments, Faena signals a new phase — one that embraces the region’s heritage and ambition while continuing to craft destinations designed not only to be visited, but to be felt.
