After starting her creative journey as a poet, Turkish actress Dilan Çiçek Deniz gained prominence through leading roles in hit series such as The Pit and Flames of Fate, and earned awards for her performance in Netflix’s One-Way to Tomorrow. Her multifaceted talent and presence make her a role model of self-expression, bringing her close to the house of Boucheron as an endorsement partner.
What are the pieces in your jewellery box that you treasure the most?
Dilan Çiçek Deniz: I love my Boucheron pieces as it’s such a timeless brand. My favourites are from the iconic Quatre collection – the Classique Tie necklace for day-to-day and the Quatre Radiant Edition set for the red carpet. When I wear them, it feels like I’m wearing both a feeling and a memory. Something personal, yet beyond me.
Is there a piece of jewellery that your mother gave you which still holds special meaning in your life?
Dilan Çiçek Deniz: She gave me a silver filigree necklace that was a wedding gift to her. She kept it close for 32 years before passing it on to me. It holds her story, her scent. It feels like wearing a piece of her. I guess it’s quite poetic that I was once a part of her, too.
What is your personal relationship with jewellery in general – can one piece capture your whole identity?
Dilan Çiçek Deniz: I don’t believe a single piece can tell the story of who I am. Fashion shows who you are; jewellery tells what you’ve felt.
In today’s world, watches have become more of a luxury statement than a necessity; what
is your relationship with watches?
Dilan Çiçek Deniz: I don’t wear watches to check the time, but to remember that it’s passing. It’s just a reminder that time is the only real luxury.
Do you feel that your appearance has played a role in shaping your career or opening certain doors?
Dilan Çiçek Deniz: Beauty draws attention, but you still need to prove yourself.
Egyptian actress Tara Emad, who began her career at the age of 14 with commercials and fashion campaigns, has become one of the most recognisable faces in contemporary Arab cinema and television. She has acted in hits such as Tahqeeq, Beit El Ruby, El Matareed, Akhi Fawq El Shagara and Diamond Dust. She also serves as Cartier’s ambassador in the Middle East and Chanel Beauty’s first regional ambassador.
How would you describe your personal relationship with time?
Tara Emad: Time, for me, isn’t just hours or minutes; it’s energy. It’s how my days flow, how I balance movement and stillness. Some days it feels like a dance, other days it feels like silence. I try to stay aware of it without letting it rush me.
What does your timepiece say about your character, lifestyle and pace?
Tara Emad: My absolute favourite timepiece is Cartier’s Baignoire watch; it’s simply perfect in its elegance and proportion. My watch feels like a reflection of me, calm and strong. I’m constantly on the move, but I love small details that hold meaning. Wearing it reminds me to stay grounded, move with intention and always make time for the things that matter. I also have a deep attachment to my Panthère necklace – I haven’t taken it off in four years, which says everything about how timeless and personal it feels to me.
Cartier celebrates craftsmanship and precision. How do these values resonate with you
personally and professionally?
Tara Emad: In my work, every detail counts – how a word is said, how a look lands, how a story unfolds. I’ve always admired people and brands that value depth over speed. Craftsmanship, to me, is about care. And Cartier represents precision and care – both essential to how I create and live.
In an age where we check the time on our phones, what makes the ritual of wearing a watch meaningful to you?
Tara Emad: There’s something really intimate about it. A watch isn’t just there to tell you the time; it’s something you carry with yourself, and it becomes part of your rhythm. I love that it connects you to tradition, to beauty, to something that lasts longer than a screen ever could.
If you could pause a single moment in your life, one instant you wish could last forever, what would it be and why?
Tara Emad: Probably those quiet moments surrounded by the people I love. Somewhere outdoors, with warm light and laughter in the background. Nothing grand, just that simple feeling of peace and connection. I’d freeze that feeling if I could.
What is your favourite series to binge-watch, the best book you’ve read and your favourite travel destination?
Tara Emad: My forever binge-watch is Friends – it’s always on repeat. As for books, there are too many to choose from, but some of my favourites are The Summer Book by Tove Jansson, Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt and The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. And my favourite destination is any place that has mountains and a trail.
