As every first Monday in May, the most awaited night of fashion takes shape again. The MET Gala 2026 kicks off on the mythical stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and, with it, celebrities start to walk up them with outfits that turn glamour into a true expression of art; one that reminds us that the real impact is not always in the dresses, but in the small details.
This year, that idea is reinforced with a dress code inspired by "Fashion is Art," an invitation to explore the intersection between the two worlds. A concept in direct dialogue with the Costume Institute's spring exhibition, Costume Art, which proposes the body as a true blank canvas.
With that as a starting point, the question arises almost immediately Will we see the beauty trends take over the night, will the dress code set the pace or will we see a mix of both? The answer, as always, is not unique. Far from being limited to viral trends or safe formulas, the makeup proposals of this edition move between the two worlds: skins that work as canvases coexisting with precise strokes and colour accents that transform the face into a statement per se.
Between more subtle proposals and others that go for the more spectacular extreme, these are the beauty looks that really made their mark on the red carpet at the MET Gala red carpet at the MET Gala.
As the first proof that the season's trends will find a place on the steps of the MET Gala 2026, Zoë Kravitz dazzles with a natural makeup look by makeup artist Nina Park - pink shadows and lips, polished eyebrows, luminous skin and a light touch of mascara. The same line we saw on the catwalks of our favourite designers, where brands like Hermès and J. Salinas set the tone.
American model Alex Consani chose a beauty look in light tones, with rose lipstick, porcelain skin and one of the strongest trends of the season: bleached brows. A bet reaffirmed by it girls like Jennie from Blackpink, Julianne Moore, Lily-Rose Depp and Kylie Jenner, who wear it with the same naturalness and style.
Another favourite of the night was undoubtedly Gigi Hadid. As the model explained for Vogue, this year she left aside the rocker aesthetic with which she was seen last year to embrace a romantic and natural look. Thus, she is seen without mascara, with the focus on juicy skin, glossy lips, rosy cheeks and well groomed eyebrows. A makeup look by makeup artist Patrick Ta that is undoubtedly worthy of a style mood board.
British model and actress Cara Delevingne chose to pair a black Ralph Lauren dress with equally elegant makeup. A beauty look guided by subtlety with marked eyebrows, a perfect black eyeliner, glossy lips and a touch of natural-looking blush. Undoubtedly, a bet that positions her as one of the best dressed of the night.
Our queen of effortless chic, Kendall Jenner, could not miss on this list. The American model has built an aesthetic signature based on making everything look relaxed, even on a night like the MET Gala. In this edition she does not disappoint and bets on a makeup that reinforces that narrative: flawless skin, earthy shadows and pink gloss.
Amanda Seyfried 's appearance feels both precise and natural. True to a style guided by light and softness, she opts for a makeup look where the skin is kept fresh and luminous. Shadows in pink-gray tones, smudged eyeliner, highlighter and a juicy pink lipstick (matching a spectacular Prada dress) add a delicate air that reinforces the elegance that defines her.
Emma Chamberlain 's arrival was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated. As a special correspondent and interviewer for Vogue since 2021, the American it girl has turned every appearance into an exercise in style. This year, to accompany a fairy-tale look by Mugler, she opted for dark shadows that framed her eyes and highlighted the blue of her eyes, illuminated with a touch of gold at the corners of her eyes. The bleached eyebrows (the same we saw on Alex Consani) and a nude lipstick finish off an ethereal, modern makeup look that is perfectly in line with the season's trends.
As one of the hosts of the evening, Nicole Kidman was one of the biggest unknowns of the evening. Her interpretation of the theme did not go unnoticed: her makeup moved between strength and precision, opting for natural details that framed the face with character, accompanying a look full of shine, without stealing the limelight.
To close, the new queen of pop, Sabrina Carpenter, not only dazzled with an impeccable Dior look, created with real films and combined with Chopard jewelry, but also with a completely inspiring beauty look. Her hairstyle and makeup were true to her usual style, inspired by the best of Old Hollywood. Her strong waves coexist in perfect harmony with a luminous base, blush, smoky shadows in pink-brown tones and lips with smudged liner.
